This document outlines our policies and procedures in collecting, maintaining, using and sharing your financial information and what we do to keep that information confidential and secure. We encourage you to read the following carefully, and print or retain it electronically for future reference.
Please note that we do not sell or share our clients? information to third parties for their marketing programs (for products or services not offered through us). Therefore, you do not need to do anything to prevent it from being shared.
PRIVACY PRINCIPLES:
First National Bank in Fairfield and its employees continue to be committed to the belief that maintaining the confidentiality of our clients? information is at the core of our relationship with our clients, and that it is one of our most important responsibilities. In order to provide our clients with a broad range of financial products and services as effectively and conveniently as possible, we use technology to manage and maintain customer information. We want you to understand what information we collect and how we use it.
Our Board of Directors has adopted these Privacy Principles to govern our promise to you, our consumer clients, that we will protect your trust and confidence by following these principles.
NONPUBLIC PERSONAL INFORMATION:
"Nonpublic personal information" is information about you that we obtain in connection with providing a financial product or service to you. For example, nonpublic personal information includes information regarding your account balance, payment history, and overdraft history.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT:
We may collect Nonpublic Personal Information about you from the following sources:
- Information we receive from you on online applications or other forms,
- Information about your online transactions with us, our affiliates or others; and
- Information we receive while verifying information you provide on online
applications or other forms (e.g. reports from credit reporting agencies).
WHAT INFORMATION WE DISCLOSE:
We may disclose the following types of information to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf, or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements:
-Information we receive from you on online applications or other forms, such as
your name, phone number, and address.
We do not share your nonpublic personal information or your credit reports with our affiliates for marketing purposes.
We do not share your medical or health information except to process transactions or to provide services you have requested or initiated (e.g. to purchase Credit Life & Disability Insurance, or to collect on such insurance).
We may disclose all the information we collect about you to third parties as permitted or required by law.
If you decide to close your account(s) or become an inactive client, we will continue to adhere to the privacy policies and practices described in this Notice.
SECURITY OF INFORMATION:
One of the ways we protect your information is by limiting our employees' access to information about you to those with a business reason to know your information. In addition, we train our employees about the importance of maintaining the confidentiality of clients' information. Employees are taught never to discuss or disclose confidential client information either within or outside the Bank, unless required to transact proper bank business. We take appropriate disciplinary action to enforce our employees' confidentiality responsibilities.
We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards that comply with federal standards to guard your nonpublic personal information.
ACCURACY OF INFORMATION:
We strongly believe that it is in our best interests as well as yours to maintain information that is as accurate as possible. We have established procedures to ensure all client information is collected and maintained as accurately and completely as possible. If you believe that our information regarding your account is inaccurate, please notify us as soon as possible. We will investigate and correct that information in a timely manner.
